Hey there, I’m Simon, a 20-year-old mapmaker and web developer based in Prague, Czechia.
I started mapmaking in 2018, at age 12, by creating several puzzle/escape maps – a niche I’ve stuck with throughout my mapmaking journey. Over the following years, I honed my game design and datapack development skills, culminating in the puzzle map Placeholder. In 2023, I released the survival map Border Hoarder. Although very different from my other maps, it’s likely my most well-known project to date. 19, I released Float. Critically acclaimed as “The Best Minecraft Map Ever Made”, it stands out as the pinnacle of the mapmaking craft.
I first got into “real” coding during the lockdown, by learning Spigot plugin development to make mini-games for me and my friends. In 2022, I got into web development, and quickly fell in love with it. The ubiquity of the web platform, along with the visual nature of what you’re creating, made me want to pursue a career in the field.
Today, I study computer science at a university. I’ve mostly stepped away from mapmaking, though I often work on small, non-Minecraft-related projects, which I put up on this portfolio website.
